Information on Recent Data Revisions

There has been intense scrutiny focused upon recent revisions in state employment data.  Senior Contributing Editor Professor Alan Clayton-Matthews has developed technical documentation of the employment data revision process, exclusively for MassBenchmarks. Two additional documents contain the MassBenchmarks estimates of the outcome of the employment data re-benchmarking process, which will not occur officially until March of 2013 [Third Quarter 2011 and Fourth Quarter 2011 Re-Benchmarked Employment Estimates].
