Explanation of the rake factor: The rake factor is used to control the subcounty housing unit population estimates to the Administrative Records derived county total. The uncontrolled household population estimate is derived by multiplying the estimate year's housing units by the Census 2000 PPH and Census 2000 occupancy rate (1 - vacancy rate). Multiplying the uncontrolled estimate by the rake factor will produce the final household population estimate. The total population is derived by adding the GQ population to the household population. Rake factors are not shown for summary level 162 records because these records cannot be summed to county totals. The housing unit estimates used to create these estimates contain revisions that we made to the 2003 estimates based on FSCPE comments.
